Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is essential for students' success at school. Therefore, attendance will carry a weight of 20% of the final grade. Furthermore, a student missing more than 1/3rd of school days each year will not receive a grade report. Monthly absence reports will be delivered to parents and the occurrence of 3 or more unexcused absences will result in direct contact with parents. The parent or child is responsible for contacting each teacher prior to absence regarding missed homework or tests and make up will be reassigned at the discretion of the teacher. Student might be penalized for late submission of assignments for unexcused absences at teacher's discretion.
Excused Absences:
Students will be allowed up to three excused absences per year. Excused absences require notification to school administration by submitting the Excused Absence Form below prior to absence. Failure to notify school ahead of time will result in absence submitted as unexcused.
Your request for excused absence may or may not be approved by the school management depending on your case. If your request is accepted, your child will not be penalized in attendance grade and will be given another chance to make up the missed assignments without penalty.
Consideration for excused absence may be given on any of the following grounds, supported by medical certificate wherever necessary:
Late Arrivals:
Students arriving after the beginning of the class will be marked as tardy. Students arriving later than 15 minutes after the beginning of class will be recorded as absent for the purpose of attendance grade. Late arrivals disrupt the classroom instructions and should be discouraged. This policy helps students become aware of time, the importance of punctuality, and respect for others. Parents' cooperation is crucial for the success of this policy.
Early Pickup
Students are required to attend all the activities during school hours including the assembly and Duhur prayer. If a student must be picked up early for a reason, parents need to fill out an early dismissal form below before student can be released from school.
